These dimmers are available with 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500 and 5000 W/VA loads in various contructions. They are available for modular installations or with wall-mounted case. They come in models as a plain dimming unit (controlled through an extern signal giver like potentiometer, push-button control devices etc.), but also available with various integrated functions like push-button controls, protective switches etc.

TRAILING EDGE DIMMER (PHASE CONTROL)

For most electronic transformers for halogen lamps, trailing edge dimmers (phase control) are necessary for dimming.

These devices should be used only when dimming is not possible through a leading edge dimmer, because they produce more loss-heat as leading edge dimmers. Specially for higher loads and therefore more units in one installation, the effort for cooling have to be considered carefully.

The trailing edge dimmers offer the same functions as leading edge dimmers and can be controlled like any other dimmers through potentiometers, pushbutton control devices etc. etc.
